Generalist Content Technical Director

As a Generalist Content Technical Director on one of our projects at NetEase Games Montreal, you will play a pivotal role in leading our local codev data centric technical team to deliver high-quality game experiences. Leveraging your extensive experience in game development, particularly with Unreal Engine, you will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to our talented team of developers. You will be responsible for ensuring our local teams properly apply data specific technical and production guidelines, overcoming challenges, ensuring the successful delivery of our project.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Mentorship:
    • Provide strong leadership to the technical team, inspiring and motivating them to achieve excellence.
    • Mentor and coach team members, fostering their growth and development.
    • Work and communicate closely with the main Content Technical team located in China.  Give also support \ mentoring \ knowledge sharing when appropriate.
    • Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment where creativity thrives.
  2. Technical Direction:
    • Monitor constantly the consistency (quality) of the data we are building codev side, guide our local technical and production teams.
    • Ensure the technical feasibility and scalability of project requirements.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including art, design, and production to ensure alignment and integration of technical solutions and execution in the data being built.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on technical progress, challenges, and solutions.
    • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, facilitating understanding and collaboration.
  4. Problem Solving and Innovation:
    • Proactively identify technical challenges and propose creative solutions to overcome them.
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technical teams.
  5. Project Management:
    • Work closely with other technical owners on the project to define technical requirements, schedules, and priorities.
    • Maintain constant communication with NetEase Montreal’s Content Technical Director about the progress \ status, also ensure the studio’s CTT strategy, vision aligns.
    • Monitor project progress and milestones, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
    • Ensure adherence to technical standards, guidelines, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Job Range: 160,000 - 210,000
