Cloud Administrator
What we’re looking forWe’re looking for an experienced Cloud Administrator to manage and optimise the cloud infrastructure that supports our internal systems, build environments and live services. This role suits someone who is naturally agile, practical and comfortable working on live services alongside development teams.
The ideal candidate has previously worked in an indie games studio, small tech company or startup and has practical hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms and an ability and enthusiasm to wear many hats and adapt to challenges. They should bring a common sense and practical approach to things like high-availability design, cost optimisation, security best practices, and be confident in maintaining production level environments.ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the DevOps and development teams and reporting directly to the CTO, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure)Monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, availability and costManage cloud networking, identity and access controlsSupport CI/CD and build pipeline integrationsCollaborate with development and data teams on infrastructure requirementsImplement backup, resilience and disaster recovery strategiesEnforce cloud security best practiceProactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and propose solutionsImplement realistic, iterative and practical infrastructure improvementsRequirementsProven experience administering cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Strong understanding of cloud networking and identity managementExperience with monitoring and logging solutionsKnowledge of high-availability and scalable architecture principlesScripting and automation experience (Powershell, Bash, C# or similar)Solid understanding of cloud storage and database solutionsDesirablesPrevious work in an indie games studio, small tech company or startupExperience supporting live game services or game production workloadsExperience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines & version controlCost optimisation and cloud governance experienceProgramming skills, in particular C#Familiarity with Facepunch or our gamesBenefitsSalary - £48,000 - £76,000/pa experience dependingWork remote, hybrid or on-siteCompetitive holiday packageView complete benefits packageBonus SchemeFacepunch Studios’ industry-leading bonus package provides a comprehensive performance bonus scheme to reward employee contributions. The bonus system highlights our commitment to recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance and dedication. All bonuses are discretionary, bonuses are not paid during the probationary period.
