Full Circle, an Electronic Arts (EA) studio, is seeking a Technical Lead for the User Interface (UI) team on Skate.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind the evolution of our UI Technology stack. You will chart a course from our current UI technical framework to one that is aligned with the direction of the company as a whole while meeting the continuing needs of Skate. Beyond your technical stewardship, you will be a dedicated people leader, directly managing, mentoring, and fostering the career growth of a talented team of Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Strategy

- UI Technology Vision: Assess our current UI technical state and compare to that of the    rest of EA, then build a road map that aligns with the future of Skate.

- Architecture & Innovation: Expand and improve the robust UI framework, systems,

   and workflows. 

- Empower UI artists and designers to iterate rapidly without sacrificing performance or     design freedom.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with UI/UX Design, Frostbite and

   Skate Technical Leadership to ensure technical feasibility matches creative

   ambition.

People Management & Culture

-  Career Mentorship: Actively manage the career growth of UI engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, setting performance goals, and delivering constructive feedback.

-  Team Building: Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and psychologically safe environment that encourages innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Experience

 - Game Industry Veteran: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience

   specifically within the gaming industry.

-  Proven People Leader: 3+ years of direct experience managing technical careers,

   including performance reviews, promotions, and hiring.

-  UI Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of modern UI development paradigms.

-  Shipped Titles: At least one shipped AAA title in a senior or lead technical capacity,             preferably covering live-service.

Technical Profile

-  Pragmatic Mindset: Proven ability to balance technology wants with business needs.

-  Coding Excellence: Strong proficiency in C++ and familiarity with modern UI scripting

   languages or frameworks

-  Data-Driven: Experience utilizing profiling tools (e.g., Pix, Razor, etc) to diagnose and       resolve UI-related performance bottlenecks.


Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES * British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$141,400 - $204,400 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
