This is a 12-month Temporary Full Time opportunity working Hybrid in Los Angeles (CA), Redwood City (CA), Kirkland (WA), Austin (TX), Orlando (FL), Vancouver (BC) or Edmonton (AB)
Reporting to the Lead Dialogue Designer, we're looking for a Narrative Designer who will embrace our philosophy and work with design leadership, writers, designers, and other departments to help us create an incredible experience for our players.
Responsibilities:
- You will assist with narrative implementation of wide-reaching game systems involving all departments.
- You will be familiar with all implementation aspects of narrative and writing.
- You will resolve complicated logic issues and come up with sustainable solutions.
- You will help create and maintain design documentation.
- You will help identify needs for satisfying and engaging narrative gameplay mechanics.
Qualifications:
- Have a general understanding of interactive narrative mechanics.
- Basic narrative design experience with game design, level design, and writing.
- Experience working on a video game or interactive media project.
- Experience with text-based scripting, visual scripting, and programming languages.
- Knowledge of modern game engine tools and pipelines such as Unreal Engine 5.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles such as polymorphism and inheritance to create strong system architecture.
- A player-first perspective to developing a refined gameplay experience.
