Senior Game Designer

Job Description

 

Miniclip is looking for a Senior Game Designer to join our Studio in Genoa, Italy.
You will design, implement and refine gameplay systems, mechanics and features that create engaging player experiences and support retention and monetisation. Working across the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to live operations, you will collaborate closely with Producers, Developers, Artists and Analysts to continuously improve our games.
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of two days per week in our Genoa office.

 

 

What will you be doing at Miniclip?

 

• Design and develop gameplay systems, mechanics, features and content that support player engagement, retention and monetisation.
• Own game features from concept and prototyping through implementation, launch and post-release optimisation.
• Design and balance game economies, progression systems and monetisation mechanics.
• Use game data and player behaviour insights to inform design decisions and improve live features.
• Produce clear design documentation and collaborate with Product, Development, Art and Analytics throughout implementation.
• Support live operations through new content, events, updates and features.
• Provide design expertise, constructive feedback and guidance to other team members.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

• At least 4 years of professional experience in game design, including gameplay and systems design, monetisation and live operations for mobile free-to-play games.
• Experience working across the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through production, launch and ongoing live operations.
• Strong knowledge of mobile free-to-play game design and the techniques used to drive engagement, retention and monetisation.
• Experience designing and balancing game economies, progression systems and gameplay features.
• Experience reviewing game analytics and player behaviour and using data to make informed design decisions.
• Ability to independently own complex design work and translate product goals into clear and implementable gameplay solutions.
• Strong creative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience providing guidance, feedback and support to other designers.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across Product, Design, Development, Art and Analytics.
• Availability to work from our Genoa office for a minimum of two days per week.
