Position Summary

Rust Backend Developer

Experience: 8 to 12 Years

Education: Minimum: B.Tech / B.E

Education Type: Full Time

Position Overview:

·                     We are looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer with strong expertise in Rust and backend web application development.

·                     The role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.

·                     The candidate will work closely with architects, product teams, QA, DevOps, and engineering leadership.

·                     The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Rust, APIs, databases, performance optimization, and production-grade backend systems.

Required Skills & Competencies:

·                     8–12 years of experience in software engineering and backend application development.

·                     Strong hands-on expertise in Rust programming language and backend web application development.

·                     Good understanding of Rust concepts including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, error handling, and concurrency.

·                     Experience building REST APIs, service-based applications, database integrations, and production backend systems.

·                     Strong debugging, profiling, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

·                     Experience with microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queues.

·                     Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines would be an added advantage.

·                     Experience in enterprise product development / GCC environments and Agile / Scrum teams.

·                     Strong ownership mindset with ability to lead technical execution in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·                     Backend Engineering Leadership:

o        Lead the design and development of scalable backend services and web application components.

o        Provide technical guidance through solution design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

o        Collaborate with architects and product teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

o        Drive clean coding practices, maintainable design patterns, and secure backend engineering standards.

·                     Rust Backend Development:

o        Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Rust.

o        Build reliable, memory-safe, and high-performance server-side application components.

o        Implement REST APIs, service interfaces, error handling, concurrency, and asynchronous processing.

o        Use Rust ecosystem frameworks, libraries, and tools to deliver maintainable backend solutions.

·                     API, Services & Integration

o        Design and implement REST APIs, service contracts, and integration patterns.

o        Integrate backend services with databases, internal systems, external APIs, and third-party platforms.

o        Define efficient request handling, authentication, authorization, and error response flows.

o        Support troubleshooting of complex backend, integration, and production issues.

·                     Engineering Excellence:

o        Mentor engineers on Rust programming, backend design, API development, and secure coding practices.

o        Promote CI/CD, automation, reliable build processes, and release engineering practices.

o        Evaluate and recommend backend frameworks, tools, libraries, and development practices.

o        Continuously improve engineering productivity, code quality, system reliability, and product delivery.

o        Direct contribution to application Performance, Scalability & Reliability
