2D Artist
Role Overview
As a 2D Artist at Playstack, you will work closely with our game designers, developers, and other artists to create eye-catching 2D assets for our HTML5 games. You will be responsible for developing characters, environments, and other graphical elements that align with the artistic vision and enhance the overall player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 2D assets, including characters, environments, UI elements, and animations for HTML5 games.
- Collaborate with the design and development teams to ensure cohesive visual direction and alignment with the game’s mechanics and goals.
- Develop concept art and visual mockups to communicate ideas effectively during the early stages of game development.
- Optimize 2D assets to ensure smooth performance and fast load times across various platforms and devices.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve the visual aspects of the game.
- Continuously iterate and refine artwork based on feedback from internal teams and testing.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new art styles, and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas and innovations to the team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a 2D Artist, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of 2D game assets, including character design, backgrounds, and UI elements.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
- Ability to create optimized assets for HTML5 games and ensure compatibility across devices.
- Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and animation principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Passion for gaming and a deep appreciation for visual storytelling through art.
